Making waves

Whether you prefer tight spiral curls or big and bouncy, textured hairstyles were one of the most popular looks of the season

Hair

Artistic Director, Dexter Johnson lead the Session Team in creating the hair for models with over 30 different nationality backgrounds. This allowed for true natural texture to shine through, seen through a varied mix of soft waves to tight, afro curls. To re-create, Dexter suggests working with and exaggerating what the model already has, to let each person feel the best version of themselves. At the Elisabetta Franchi show during Milan Fashion Week, Fabrizio Palmieri led the Italian TONI&GUY Session Team in creating elegant and defined soft waves that were inspired by the 80s and 90s yet contemporary looking. Fabrizio also referenced the 80’s at the Onitsuka Tiger, but played around with various textures to enhance volumes and shapes.

Kaushik Velendra is a London-based menswear designer with an instinctive appreciation for impactful clothing, whose trailblazing collections are reshaping modern menswear. ‘Power dressing for the people and tailoring for the future’ is how Velendra describes his brand’s DNA. Strong tailoring, clean lines, and embroidered brocade defined his AW22 Collection with shoulders being the main focus of the show–exaggerated with metallic accents reminiscent of armoury.
