Overview of London Fashion Weekend Sept 2015
Well ‘that’s a wrap’ as they say and indeed it was for the fourth and final day of London Fashion Weekend which ended last night. Here we sum up our favourite moments:
So it all started with a change of venues – formerly set within the historic grounds of Somerset House - visitors headed over to LFWE’s new home at the Saatchi Gallery – where Art and Fashion literally came together under one roof amongst the ‘Chelsea set’.
Not only a new venue, but for us we decided to ‘go large’ with a huge, yet inviting open show space, where the TONI&GUY FASHION FIX with label.m, pop-up area - paid host to retailing the whole label.m range at fantastic promotional prices, then there was the much loved Fashion Fix’s which draws lengthy queues and which for the first time, introduced all 10 looks instead of three - epic!
Not only that, but each day visitors also had the opportunity to win a prize (well you’ve got to be in it to win it), as there was the chance to bag an exclusive – the ‘not-yet-on sale’ GILES for label.m scarf, plus new TONI&GUY Hair accessory. Oh did we say ‘accessory’? Yes that’s right, TONI&GUY is launching a new 21 piece collection in October – and only the show-goers got to see it first on preview.
Throw in some facts – most popular ‘shelf-shifting’ product was none other than our best-selling and award-winning label.m Texturising Volume Spray – always a show-stopping must-have.
Heading straight to the shows – TREND and DESIGNER the TONI&GUY team used label.m backstage for four of the biggest names: ISSA, Peter Pilotto, House of Holland and Christopher Raeburn.
Spot the trend for AW’ 15: Into the Wild (animal print frenzy), Punk Rocks (Rule Britannia), Super Retro (70’s reigns supreme for another season), Masala Tones (Rich shades of Plums and Burgundy) – lots of choice - don't wear all at once!
We also began ‘snap-papping’ those we felt looked the coolest and most representative of individual style for our new 'about-to-launch' label-me platform. More details soon, but we’re looking for the new face of our next label.m campaign… so watch this space for updates over the coming months – it could be you!
How could we forget the incredible Expert Talk session with International Artistic Director Philipp Haug, who for the fourth time was invited to inspire the audience for half an hour of inspiration, where he shared his knowledge on the hair accessory trend and of course presented the new range (courtesy of a stylishly adorned model) with tips and styling advice.
All that's left to say is get ready for a ‘fashion-fuelled February ‘16 (mark your diaries now 19th-22nd) – for the extended weekend, where we’ll be delivering your daily dose of key trends and backstage insight, with a bit of inspiration.
