Day 3 London Fashion Weekend Sept 2015
Already into what was the third day at LFWE, not only was it gloriously sunny and warm day yet again, as we emerged – coffee in hand from Sloane Sq station, but aside busy roads in the background – it was a sight watching heaving numbers of ‘people traffic’; going bumper-to-bumper in their hundreds, making their way towards the Saatchi Gallery.
With lots going on, it was a case of heading quickly backstage to see how the models’ were being made ’run-way ready’ for the main designer show of the day – House of Holland! Referred to as a bit of an ‘incidental Comedian’, man-behind-the-brand Henry Holland and instantly recognisable by his perennial quiff, showcased an impacful AW’15 collection described as ‘ classic English Archetypes – borrowing from establishment codes’. Think oversized Gingham check and Silk scarves.
The hair interpretation for the show created by TONI&GUY using label.m, was kept clean and simple, with off-set side partings and depending on length, there were subtle hints of a wave down the back – secured with the same scarves which accessorised the outfits.
Then it was time at 2.00pm, for a key highlight of the day, where International Artistic Director Philipp Haug (who's headed all shows throughout the weekend) from TONI&GUY, took to the stage alongside industry renowned fashion commentator Antonia O’Brien; to talk about the hot new trend for Hair Accessories - as seen across many shows for AW'15.
This then led nicely to Philipp discussing the new TONI&GUY range -which exclusively makes its show debut at LFWE, before officially hitting the shelves in Oct.
He then presented a model sporting a chic backcombed ponytail, who was wearing two gorgeous pieces - complemented by a fun print dress by GILES.
There were also tips on how to upgrade a hairstyle with minimum effort, which the attentive crowd embraced with anticipated interest and afterwards, some even stayed behind for a photo!
All in all a brilliant day!
