Day 5 at LFW with TONI&GUY and label.m
Written by our official blogger - Poppy Dinsey
For the last few seasons, my London Fashion Week fun has closed with Tata Naka. The Tata Naka presentation is always the perfect way to end a manic week as you can guarantee that there’ll be a real story behind the collection and really joyful, feminine clothes.
And of course, with Bill Watson having flown in to head the TONI&GUY Session Team, you know that the Tata Naka story will really be told with the hair.
Whilst the clothes were mainly taking inspiration from interiors, the hair look was inspired by North American religious order the Hutterites.
The hair needed to be swept off the face to keep that practical edge - these girls would be working on the land rather than sitting around with straighteners or curling tongs - and had to stay very natural in texture.
Once label.m Extra Strong Mousse had prepped the hair, it was up tolabel.m Dry Shampoo to really keep that matte finish. A little bit of label.m Hairspray helped hold the ‘cult chic’ twists at the back, but all in all it was a look designed to look as product-free as possible.
Once the girls were all dressed and ready for rehearsals, I got out of the way (it’s VERY tight in the backstage areas!) to get some final street style snaps.
Definitely head over to WIWT to see the rest of the pics on the label.m pagefor some serious style inspiration, there are over 100 outfits to peruse!
And don’t worry boys, there are some dapper gents too…
I went mega casual and very London for my last day, with Donna Ida jeans and a Buttonmess jumper. It just seems to make sense to wear London labels when we’re celebrating all things UK!
Although I’d seen all the models getting ready for the Tata Naka presentation, I knew from previous seasons that the Tata Naka girls really know how to build a great set for their presentations. Sets that demand to be seen!
So once the presentation was under way I headed back to see how the girls looked all lined up in their positions…
It was hard to get over how stunning the completed look was, especially in that setting.
Once the beautifully bright prints had been shown off to the wowed crowd, the models changed into their second looks which were just as delightful…
It was a great way to end a great Fashion Week.
Thank you once again to TONI&GUY and label.m for letting me tag along! I’ve learnt a lot and have approximately ten trillion hair ideas to try at home :D
Of course, the fun isn’t over just yet as we still have Vodafone London Fashion Weekend to come where visitors will be able to get TONI&GUY hair makeovers as well as some serious label.m discounts. Get your ticket if you haven’t already!
